Gaming Account Security: Protect Your OTP
Keep your gaming app account safe: why you must never share your OTP, how to build a strong password and what to do if your account is hacked.

Most gaming accounts aren't "hacked" in the movie sense. They're handed over, usually by someone tricked into sharing an OTP or reusing a leaked password. The good news: a few simple habits make your account very hard to steal. Here's your gaming account security checklist.
Rule 1: never share your OTP
An OTP (one-time password) is the code sent to your phone by SMS. It proves you are the one logging in or making a change.
If someone asks for your OTP, they are trying to take your account. No exceptions.
Scammers pretend to be support agents, "account verifiers", bonus promoters or even friends. Real support will never ask for it.
Rule 2: use a strong, unique password
- At least 10–12 characters
- A mix of letters, numbers and symbols, or a long phrase of random words
- Never reused from your email, social media or banking
If one site leaks your password and you've reused it, attackers will try it everywhere. A password manager makes unique passwords easy.
Rule 3: protect the phone number
Your mobile number is how you recover the account. Keep the SIM in your own name, set a SIM PIN, and tell your mobile operator if your SIM suddenly stops working, as that can be a sign of a SIM-swap attempt.
Rule 4: always use the official site
Phishing pages copy real login screens perfectly. Bookmark the official site, or open it from the app pages on EarnPlayMax. Our guide to spotting fake game apps shows the warning signs.
Rule 5: lock your phone
Use a PIN, fingerprint or face unlock. If someone picks up an unlocked phone, they can read your OTPs.
Rule 6: log out on shared devices
Using a friend's phone or a shared computer? Log out when you're done and don't let the browser save your password.
If your account is compromised
- Reset your password from the official site immediately.
- Contact official support through the app, not through a number someone sent you.
- Check other accounts that used the same password and change those too.
- Contact your bank or wallet provider if you linked payment details.
